Fran Herzog is passionate about the need for answers necessary to defeat Lyme disease, specifically a gold standard diagnostic test and a cure for persistent Lyme. She not only has experienced long-term persistent Lyme herself, but her entire family has suffered from the illness.
She is a co-founder of the Greenwich Lyme disease Task Force, later renamed Lyme Research Alliance, and now sits on GLA’s Executive Committee as Secretary. She brings an extensive background in finance and accounting to the organization and is a member of both its finance and audit committees.
A graduate of Penn State University with a B.S. degree in accounting, she became a certified public accountant, worked in the audit division of Arthur Andersen, and then as a financial analyst with DDB Needham. Long active in her community, she has served as Vice President/Manager of the Express Soccer Club of Greenwich, Treasurer of the Western Middle School PTA and Registrar for the Greenwich Flame Travel Basketball.
