As a GLA Lyme Education Ambassador, I have the opportunity to share my personal experiences and story living with Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. It is my hope to inspire others and create awareness among a wider public.
- How did you find out about GLA?
I was searching the internet for Lyme disease resources and I found GLA’s website, The website had a list of resources as well as programs that were very helpful. I was especially interested in getting involved with the Lyme Education Ambassador Program.
- Why are you passionate about educating others about Lyme disease/tick-borne illnesses?
I share my personal experiences and story living with Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses, hoping to inspire others and create awareness among a wider public. Also, to share my professional knowledge of forest and landscape management for prevention and reduction of ticks through forest and landscape management.
- How are you raising awareness as a GLA Ambassador?
Through education, raising awareness, networking, and developing new contacts with patient organizations, universities, hospitals, labs and government agencies in Europe and America. My primary goals are discovering new research and opportunities to collaborate, as well as increasing awareness about Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses.
- What do you like about being a GLA Lyme Education Ambassador?
I am proud to be a part of GLA as an ambassador and to support a nonprofit organisation. The opportunity to help others by educating them about tick bite prevention is very important for me.
- Do you have a favorite experience as a GLA Ambassador that you would like to share?
I was invited to share my story for the upcoming GLA Gala 2021. I enjoyed the experience of being interviewed and filmed for the gala and the opportunity to share how the true impact of living with Lyme disease.
