Conditions were ideal for Global Lyme Alliance’s (GLA) 2nd annual “Bite Back Against Lyme 5K Run/Walk” at Cove Island Park on Sunday, with sunny skies, a light breeze and temperatures in the 60s. Over 400 runners, walkers and volunteers participated in the event, raising nearly $33,000.
One of the nation’s top oncologists, Dr. Spector struggled with long undiagnosed Lyme disease that left his heart so badly damaged he needed a heart transplant. He has joined GLA’s SAB because “this is an organization that is passionate about changing the lives of those suffering with Lyme disease and co-infections.”
